Under supervision of the Preschool Supervisor and Preschool Instructor, the Preschool Assistant helps provide an education, quality child care and a safe environment for the children in the preschool and kids care programs.

This position is 8 hours per day from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Work year follows the school district calendar. Additional workdays over winter, spring and summer breaks may be available. Fully benefited position.

High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required. Classes or degree in Early Childhood Education and/or prior successful experience working in a preschool or educational setting strongly preferred. Applicants must also be highly qualified* under the reauthorized ESEA at time of hire or within 20 days of starting date. *(To be considered highly qualified, applicants must have a completed two years of study at an institution of higher education; or obtained an Associate’s (or higher) degree; or (c) passed an exam such as the Compass test which is offered at Clatsop Community College).

Salary:  Per Classified Contract Schedule for 2017-2021
